Tulane Montessori Children's House was established in 1966 and is affiliated with the American Montessori Society. Our goal is to create an enriched atmosphere where learning is a fun and exciting experience.

Children are encouraged to progress at their own rate in a stress-free environment. Our goals are to have each child develop a good sense of order and concentration, to foster friendships with peers, and to create an atmosphere where grace and courtesy are always encouraged. The classrooms are set up to accommodate children in a Montessori mixed-age setting and we provide learning materials for all skill levels.

We have a large experienced staff that is well-trained in the Montessori philosophy. Our teacher-student ratio is excellent at 1:5.

Each year, along with the traditional Montessori materials, we offer an enhanced yearly curriculum. Past subjects have included the solar system, land animals, oceanography, fine arts, the human body, famous world landmarks, history, and world geography. Arts and crafts activities are always incorporated into the curriculum subjects.

Field trips and on-site subject experts visit the school to provide students with first-hand information about the subjects selected for study.
